The new Kona Freestyle is calling for a revolution in the windsurfing world.
With this board you can perform radical “shortboard fashion” freestyle in almost no wind at all.. Mind-boggling but true. The concept is unknown, but it will change all known boundaries and transform freestyle into an all condition play, which was unthinkable in the past.
Covered with an EVA deck the board is very comfortable and allow all kind of crazy manoeuvres in all conditions. A winning compromise between the old time Windsurfer and the new super hype short freestyle boards on the market today.
Still, the key approach to this concept was quite logical and simple;
Take a Kona ONE design and slightly reduce its width to make it rail ride quicker, - keep the same length - and you have a board with amazing displacement potential.
So far so good in light and medium conditions, but to boost performance in planning conditions - this is again where the step tail to come into play. The concept is working extremely well and unlike all other models in the line, we extended the step from 35cm to 45cm and angled off the last 10cm. The result is a spectacular double step tail, making all reversed tricks so much easier. Enjoy the future with this pioneering but yet logical concept.
